Medical Devices | Injection Moulding

An established and growing medical device manufacturer is seeking a Development Engineer (m/f/d) to join its R&D team in Deggendorf.

Responsibilities

• Development of medical device components and assemblies (injection-moulded plastic parts, valves, tubing/fluidic systems)
• Design and optimisation of plastic and multi-component parts
• Material selection considering biocompatibility and sterilisation requirements
• Creation of CAD models, drawings, and BOMs
• Technical ownership of projects from concept through to series production
• Support of tooling, injection moulding trials, sampling, and ramp-up
• Participation in risk management (e.g. Design FMEA), verification & validation
• Collaboration with production, quality, suppliers, and customers
• Maintenance of development documentation in line with ISO 13485

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Medical Engineering, or similar
• Several years’ experience in medical device development
• Strong knowledge of plastics engineering and injection moulding
• Experience with valves, tubing sets, or fluidic systems preferred
• CAD experience (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor)
• Understanding of ISO 13485 / MDR advantageous
• Fluent English; German beneficial
• Structured, hands‑on, solution‑oriented approach
