Regional Medical Advisor – Ophthalmology & Rare Disease – Germany (Contract, Field-Based)

A globally recognised integrated ophthalmic leader —with more than 80 years of expertise in researching, developing, manufacturing, and commercialising eye-care solutions—is seeking a Regional Medical Advisor to join its Medical Affairs team.

With a portfolio spanning pharmaceuticals, surgical devices, and diagnostics , this organisation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients with serious ophthalmic and rare diseases. Operating internationally, they are at the forefront of delivering innovative, evidence-based solutions to support better clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide medical information and communication to healthcare professionals across Germany.
  • Drive medical education and training programmes.
  • Facilitate Investigator Initiated Trials and engage with Key Opinion Leaders in ophthalmology and rare disease.
  • Contribute to Research & Clinical Development initiatives.
  • Represent the company at scientific conferences and meetings .
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team while ensuring compliance with all policies and regulatory requirements.

Desired Profile :

  • Advanced degree in biomedical sciences (Dipl., MD, PharmD, PhD).
  • Proven experience in ophthalmology; experience in rare diseases is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with Key Opinion Leaders in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector.
  • Background in roles such as MSL, Medical Advisor, Medical Manager, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development process and solid business acumen.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English .
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and willing to travel extensively across Germany.
