Role Summary

We’re seeking an experienced and ambitious finance professional to join our Business Finance team supporting Ramboll Germany. As our new Project Controller (m/f/d) you will work with the project team to deliver solutions to our clients, be part of the Henning & Larsen department in Germany, and collaborate with colleagues across a vibrant, innovative, international, and supportive team. You’ll play a critical role in defining and delivering projects that involve global clients and help close the gap to a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage the financial performance of your project portfolio, driving value through revenue recognition, risk management, working‑capital optimisation, and project monitoring.
  • Champion financial governance by ensuring compliance with project accounting standards, internal controls, Rambol’s policies and procedures, tax, statutory, and audit requirements.
  • Responsible for project set‑up and ongoing maintenance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Rambol’s financial processes and systems.
  • Provide financial advice to stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities early and offering practical, data‑driven solutions (including participation in tender reviews).
  • Apply an innovative mindset to streamline and enhance financial operations.
  • Support change initiatives with agility, helping teams adapt to evolving business priorities.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with Business Controllers, Project Managers, and senior leadership.
  • Partner with our India‑based support team to ensure timely and accurate project maintenance and billing.
About You

  • 3–5 years related experience in project controlling for professional services organisations or consultancy, with advanced skills applying project controlling best practices.
  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Proficient use of cost accounting systems to run, monitor, and bill projects, demonstrating advanced skills in applying project controlling best practices.
  • Proficient using Office 365, including strong Excel skills and a good understanding of Power BI or similar.
  • Excellent communication in English (written and verbal); some German language skills are also needed, along with interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Critical thinking, strong data‑driven analytical skills, and high attention to detail.
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision while communicating and coordinating work efforts with stakeholders.
  • Track record of getting involved in, and perhaps driving, initiatives that improve your domain.
  • Ability to successfully lead meetings in virtual settings where most stakeholders and team members are in different locations.
