What You’ll Achieve
- Perform and interpret bulk transmission and interconnection analysis using commercial power flow software to pinpoint the best places to connect to the grid
- Evaluate transmission system dynamics under high penetrations of renewables
- Develop reasonable and technically supported study assumptions using the best available queue and grid upgrades datasets
- Consider the technical and commercial viability of new generation and large load projects by forecasting upgrade costs
- Work closely with the product and engineering teams to develop software solutions that enhance power system analysis at scale
- Apply and expand your expertise in power systems and interconnection processes across different utilities and ISOs
- Act as the domain expert within Paces to shape internal methodologies and inform product development
- Generalize power system principles and utility processes into scalable software applications and proprietary datasets
Requirements
- 1-7 years of formal experience in power system studies, transmission planning, or interconnection engineering at consultant, developer, or utility
- Deep familiarity with generator interconnection modeling in at least one major ISO/RTO (e.g., PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, WECC, etc.)
- Strong quantitative ability and understanding of transmission studies; experience with TARA/PSSE or similar software
- Ability to think beyond traditional engineering approaches and contribute to product innovation
- Extremely ambitious and passionate about creating value through creative, iterative thinking and automation
