The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) at the University of Luxembourg brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences.

The faculty's research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society.
This postdoctoral research position is connected to the new CHANGES project ("Caring for humanity and nature through global citizenship education"), funded by the André Losch Foundation and embedded within the University of Luxembourg's SciTeach Center (sciteach.uni.lu), a teacher education resource center dedicated to supporting sciences at the primary school levels through teacher education and research-based innovations.
Current global challenges call for transformative approaches to education, and the CHANGES project focuses on designing, implementing, and researching dissemination pathways to global citizenship education (GCE) that can support children in developing knowledges, skills and attitudes for building a more inclusive, peaceful and sustainable future.
CHANGES seeks to advance GCE through collaborating with primary school (cycle 1-4) teachers in co-developing and implementing innovative projects with their students that work towards key civic competencies as elaborated by the Council of Europe (2016) and structured around UNESCO's three dimensions for GCE - cognitive, social-emotional and behavioral.
The successful applicant will be affiliated with the Institute for Teaching and Learning situated within the Department of Education and Social Work (DESW). The yearly gross salary for every Postdoctoral Researcher at the UL is EUR 85176 (full time).
