Responsibilities
  • Lab Operations Management: Oversee the daily administrative operations of the laboratory to ensure smooth workflow. Coordinate with laboratory staff, scientists, and technicians for operational efficiency.
  • Sample Documentation & Tracking: Manage the intake, labeling, storage, and tracking of laboratory samples. Maintain accurate records of sample movement and status using laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • Inventory & Supplies Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of lab consumables, chemicals, and equipment. Place orders for necessary supplies and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Support quality control processes by ensuring data accuracy, proper documentation, and adherence to protocols. Participate in audits and assist in preparing documentation for quality assessments.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all laboratory practices comply with local, national, and international health and safety regulations. Maintain proper records for inspections, audits, and certifications.
  • Equipment Maintenance Coordination: Schedule routine calibration, servicing, and repairs of laboratory instruments. Keep records of maintenance logs and service history.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Compile and manage laboratory data and reports for internal use and external communication. Ensure accurate and timely entry of results into electronic systems.
  • Administrative & Clerical Support: Handle documentation, filing, correspondence, and scheduling of meetings or training sessions. Provide administrative support to lab managers and department heads.
  • Staff Coordination & Communication: Facilitate communication between lab personnel, management, and external stakeholders. Coordinate schedules, leave planning, and staff training documentation.
  • Laboratory Safety Oversight: Implement and enforce safety protocols, including proper disposal of hazardous waste. Maintain up-to-date safety manuals and ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures.
