Key responsibilities

As a Sales Specialist / Engineer you are responsible for the sales of ABB Motion products in a highly technological environment and are the decisive link to our customers. Together with the sales team, you will contribute to success, coordinate and plan complex solutions and sales strategies and develop customer acquisition measures for your sales territory.

Work model

The work model for the role is: remote #LI-Remote. Preferably in the area Hamburg, Hanover, Magdeburg or Berlin.

Business focus

This role is contributing to our business are Motion in Northern Germany. Main stakeholders are our potential customers.

Accountability
  • Responsibility for the acquisition of new customers as well as for maintaining and securing the customer base customer-oriented and competent presentation of selected products and solutions of the Motion division with a focus on drives
  • Implementation of requirements in the OEM customer segment in corresponding solutions by analyzing specifications and tenders
  • Preparation and follow-up of quotations (supported by technical office staff) through order placement
  • Continuous monitoring of the market and involvement in the development of new sales strategies
  • Participation in trade fairs and customer events as well as support for our marketing activities budget responsibility with regular analysis of the results of all activities under your own responsibility

Qualifications for the role
  • Successfully completed technical studies - preferably in the field of electrical engineering, electric drive technology, or machinery; alternatively completed technician qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in field sales, particularly in cold calling and the sale of technically complex products; Cold calling is one of your sales strengths
  • Excellent industry and application knowledge, like heating/ventilation/air conditioning industry, water & wastewater, food & beverage but also in the machinery segment is essential. Detailed product knowledge in the field of drive technology (drives and motors) is important
  • Experience with the CRM system SFDC as well as with tools for drive configuration is an advantage
  • Experience in the strategic development of customer relationships and responsibility for revenue, margin, and customer growth
  • Pronounced closing and assertiveness skills, as well as persuasiveness, negotiation skills, service orientation, and self-management
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, and a high willingness to travel nationally
