Mid-Level Software Engineer – mainly home working and some presence in Dusseldorf office post Covid

Our client is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer. They work alongside major global brands such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Sony, Facebook, Spotify, Netflix, Paypal and Uber.

You will be working remotely but closely with colleagues, clients, partners and operations all over the world.

Whilst the office is based in Dusseldorf, you will be mainly home working and required to come into the office between 1-4 times a month depending on your location post Covid

You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as the Product team and externally with brands such as those named above and leading telcos.

Responsibilities

• Building third party web service integrations.
• Building layered component-based, service-oriented architectures.
• Engaging in all phases of software development life cycle from design, to development and testing.
• Developing new features and enhance existing applications.
• Helping troubleshoot production issues.
• Fostering the spirit of collaboration across multiple internal and external teams

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 3+ years of industry experience
• Java/JEE technologies as the main software development language
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders across the globe
• Excellent English Language Skills
• Attention to detail and strong organization skills

Desired experience

• Experience with Mobile Operators or SMS systems
• Experience with service-oriented architecture
• Experience working on high-volume and low-latency systems
• Experience integrating with third party web services across a variety of technologies, e.g. REST, SOAP, SMPP
• Experience with some (or all) of the following technologies/frameworks/tools: Maven, Git, MySQL, JMS, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Jersey, JMX, Jetty, Hessian.
