Redstone Commodity Search is working with an international energy and metals trading firm seeking to hire a Met Coal Trader to develop and grow their physical trading activities across Europe and global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute trading strategies for metallurgical coal, including spot and term contracts, with full P&L responsibility.
• Originate, negotiate, and manage transactions with miners, steel producers, utilities, and industrial consumers in Europe and globally.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and freight providers to expand trading flows and improve margins.
• Monitor market trends, pricing developments, and freight dynamics to identify and capture trading opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with logistics, finance, and risk teams to ensure accurate contract execution, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in physical coal trading, with a focus on metallurgical coal and a proven track record of commercial success.
• Established network of contacts among miners, steelmakers, and industrial consumers across Europe and international markets.
• Deep understanding of coal supply chains, quality specifications, pricing structures, and risk management techniques.
• Experience managing complex negotiations and structured transactions in a dynamic market environment.
• Strong analytical skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
