To support our Medical Rare Diseases Team in Munich, we are looking for support as:
Medical Science Liaison Lead - Rare Diseases (f/m/d)
Field based role.
Lead and develop the field-based MSL team in collaboration with the Therapeutic Area Head, ensuring ethical, compliant, and effective delivery of medical and scientific initiatives aligned with departmental objectives.
Provide strategic and tactical leadership within the medical team, ensuring scientific, clinical, and therapeutic expertise to support non-promotional initiatives for marketed and pipeline products.
Guide the MSL team in identifying local opportunities, leveraging knowledge of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), therapeutic area trends, and population health characteristics.
Foster development of capabilities and competencies of the MSL team for effective engagement with the customers.
Drive the implementation of regional medical education programs, including congress symposia, webinars, and standalone events in partnership with MSLs.
Act as the patient champion for the therapeutic area, facilitating knowledge transfer between patient advocates and MSLs, and co-developing strategies for patient engagement and advocacy organizations.
Lead/assist the team in engaging in scientific exchange and education about current and emerging therapies in a compliant fashion with KOLs.
Ensure the MSL Team reports relevant strategic insights and achieves the communication of medical and educational objectives set for the assigned products/indications, within the framework of IPSEN’s global strategy and national operating plan.
Ensure that the scientific and technical needs of Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Development, Commercial, Legal and Compliance are identified and met.
Facilitate informational, educational, and research activities for relevant stakeholders such as physicians and ancillary healthcare professionals and patients.
Ensure compliance with all Ipsen SOPs, Policies, Directives and relevant national guidelines and ensure the MSL team is similarly observant and compliant.
Biomedical, Scientific University education (MD, PhD).
Medical/paramedical Practice or Research career (hospital and/or hospital related, university research, pharmaceutical industry research or medical affairs).
Proven experience in successfully leading, coaching and managing a team of MSLs/Scientific professionals.
Proven experience and successful track record as an MSL professional.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain credible and scientific relationships with top experts in the specialty disease area.
Working knowledge of the relevant International and National Codes of Practices for MSLs.
Fluent in German and English.
