Description
We are seeking a skilled mechanical or optical engineer to support the development and automation of our quantum sensing measurement systems. In this role, you will design and optimize high-stability components and motion assemblies that enable sub-micron positioning and reproducible measurements. You will work on high precision optics in both laser optics and the microscopy field. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team, our engineering partners, and vendors to bring the first commercial generation of our precision instruments to market.
What is expected of you
- MSc degree with 4+ years of industry experience, or PhD with at least 3 years of industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in design and construction
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Structured working style with the ability to develop and manage modular, structured BOMs.
- Proficient in the use of CAD systems.
- Experience with the following topics is a strong plus: Radio frequency engineering, Zeemax, quantum physics, semiconductor tooling, system-level engineering

What will you do
- Design and construction of optical and/or mechanical units
- Conduct simulations, tolerance analysis, and testing to validate designs and ensure long-term stability and reproducibility.
- Collaborate closely with optical engineers, mechanical engineers, electronics engineers, and software developers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into the full measurement workflow.
- Document designs, test results, and integration guidelines in a clear and structured manner.
