About the Role: As we rapidly expand, we're on the lookout for a Legal Senior Specialist EMEA with 6+ years of experience in employment law within the EMEA region. Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Lead the negotiation and review of complex contracts, including Master Service Agreements, SaaS agreements, employment contracts, and vendor engagements. Ensuring risk mitigation and alignment with business needs.
- Global/Regional Employment Legal Guidance: Provide strategic legal guidance on cross-border employment matters, with a particular focus on the Europe/EMEA region, including onboarding, offboarding, regulatory compliance, and employee disputes.
- Data Protection & Privacy: Advise on GDPR and global data protection matters, particularly in the context of employment and international operations.
- Legal Escalations & Advisory: Handle escalated and high-risk legal queries across jurisdictions and provide commercially practical legal advice to cross-functional teams.
- Process & Legal Ops Development: Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal workflows, tools, playbooks, and scalable processes.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, including HR, Sales, Product, and Compliance, to embed legal strategy into business initiatives.
- Industry Engagement and Development: Stay ahead of trends and developments within the HR tech sector and startups, participating in policy discussions and shaping the legal framework of the industry.
Qualifications
- Legal Education: Law Degree (LLB/JD) from a recognized university. Bar membership or qualification in at least one European jurisdiction.
- Experience: 6+ years of legal experience, ideally in-house within the EOR, staffing, HR tech, or a large global company. Deep expertise in European employment law, with proven experience advising on onboarding/offboarding, employee benefits, and labor law compliance. Strong track record of negotiating and drafting a range of commercial agreements. Familiarity with global compliance requirements, and cross-border operations. Exposure to data protection, including practical GDPR compliance in employment settings. Experience supporting or advising on complex legal escalations and sensitive matters.
- Skills & Competencies: Strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset and the ability to align legal advice with business priorities. Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. A collaborative, proactive team player. Ability to work independently and make confident decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in another European language (e.g., French, Spanish, German) is a serious plus.
