Who Are We UNSW School of Clinical Medicine encompasses all our Clinical Campuses and Disciplines, as well as a number of other affiliated clinical sites. We have four main metropolitan clinical campuses which include our South West Sydney Clinical Campuses, St George and Sutherland Clinical Campuses, the Randwick Clinical Campus and St Vincent's Healthcare Campus. Our Rural Clinical Campuses include Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, Albury and Griffith. Our goals within this School are to provide the best educational practices across all our campuses, make sure that all our researchers are well supported and that our staff and student’s flourish. This School may be widely disbursed physically but this gives us a fantastic scale and diversity that only enriches programs.

Role Purpose The Lecturer, Senior Clinical Skills and Simulation Educator role is part of UNSW’s Education Focused (EF) roles. It is responsible for the coordination and practical delivery of Clinical Skills training and simulation activities within high- and low-fidelity learning environments, in line with the teaching requirements and guidelines of the Medicine program. The role will accelerate the development and implementation of educational innovations as part of the clinical teaching staff in the School of Clinical Medicine. The position reports to the relevant education lead at the Clinical Campus, with a dotted line to the Director of Simulation and has no direct reports. The role will be based at one metropolitan Clinical Campus, with cross-campus collaboration expected and some travel to other metro sites.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and practically deliver Clinical Skills training and simulation activities in high- and low-fidelity learning environments, in line with Medicine program requirements.
  • Develop and implement educational innovations as part of the clinical teaching staff.
  • Collaborate across campuses and travel as required to support learning activities.
Qualifications
  • Qualification in a relevant health discipline and maintenance of currency in registration from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Active engagement with discipline knowledge and professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience in practical teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate level.
  • High level of experience in the development and delivery of skills teaching and simulated learning in healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of and experience with simulation and scenario-based learning equipment, software and task trainers, simulated patients, and clinical skills training methods in health education.
  • Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and simulation delivery methods.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g., curriculum design and development at various levels and scales).
  • Knowledge of industry or experience with work-integrated learning (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Remuneration and Conditions
  • Employment Type: Full Time (35 hour-week)
  • Duration: Permanent contract
  • Remuneration: Level B position from $127,947 base (+ 17% Super, leave loading)
  • Location: Liverpool Hospital, Sydney
  • Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered.
