A leading technology company in Oberkochen is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain their Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with product owners, coach team members, and ensure the security and resilience of cloud operations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in cloud operations, Azure, and Kubernetes. As Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture, operation, and continuous development of our Kubernetes-based cloud environment and integrated services. You will provide technical leadership to the DevOps team, coach colleagues, and work closely with Product Owners and Security experts to ensure secure, stable, and future-proof cloud operations. In this role, you will be the key contact for all technical matters related to infrastructure, monitoring, and cloud security.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
At least 5 years of experience in cloud operations and development, with strong expertise in Azure and Kubernetes.
Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructures, including CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and security tool integration.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible) and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Promtail).
Strong background in backend development (REST APIs, ideally Python/Django or Go) and microservices architectures.
Experience operating containerized SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL (Redis) databases as well as hyperscale GPU infrastructures with large datasets.
Excellent problem-solving skills in production cloud environments, combined with the ability to coach and technically guide DevOps and ML developers.
Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with a structured, proactive, and independent working style.
