Overview
As a Lead Business Security Consultant, you advise clients on the most suitable and cost-effective measures for security risks. You bridge the gap between security and the business of the organisation. In doing so, you make the client aware of their governance responsibility and provide insight into the current situation. You present your advice to the board of the organisation and lead to concrete decision-making and implementation of possible improvements. You are that strategic sparring partner to the client.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on suitable and cost-effective security measures; bridge security and business; make clients aware of governance responsibilities and provide insight into the current situation.
- Present advice to the board and drive concrete decision-making and implementation of possible improvements; act as a strategic sparring partner to the client.
- Work on diverse projects related to security management (ISO 27001), risk management, compliance with standards and frameworks (BSI Grundschutz, ISO 27001) or cyber security legislation (NIS2, DORA), and Northwave’s holistic approach to intelligent security operations.
- Vary roles from conducting assessments, managing/contributing to implementations, or advisory work; collaborate with experts from other teams within Northwave.
- Ensure the client acts on given advice; identify consultancy opportunities for Northwave; maintain a consultative selling mindset with value for the client as the priority.
- Work with clients ranging from medium-large to large international companies across sectors.
- Manage a small team of business consultants; monitor project pipelines; coordinate with neighbouring business units; report to the DACH management; contribute to service development; connect processes, technology and people (Business, Bytes, Behaviour).
- Collaborate with over 275+ security enthusiasts to help companies protect themselves against cyber attacks.

Education
- Do you have a relevant degree, e.g. in business administration, business informatics, security management or similar? Ideally, you have additional qualifications such as lead auditor.
Knowledge and experience
- Extensive professional experience in information security and risk management; substantial experience as a business consultant; leadership experience is a plus.
Other strengths
- You combine strong business insight with leadership skills to boost efficiency and impact. You enjoy working hands-on, both on concepts and their implementation in close dialogue with customers and colleagues. You work independently and in a well-structured manner. You have very good German and good English skills.
