Champion care for rare diseases-build networks, drive access, and make a lasting impact as our Key Account Manager.

Proclinical is seeking a Key Account Manager to join our team and focus on rare diseases within the Essen, Wiesbaden, Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken, Aachen, and Düsseldorf territories. In this role, you will play a key part in driving patient identification, market development, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals and treatment centers. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure the success of rare disease products while adhering to ethical and legal standards.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location or hold an EU passport.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute territory strategies and account‑specific plans to achieve sales, market share, and profit targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and treatment centers to educate on products and remove barriers to healthcare provider decisions.
  • Identify and strengthen networks between centers and satellite clinics to improve patient care.
  • Organize and implement regional events to enhance diagnosis and treatment timelines.
  • Continuously assess sales opportunities and prioritize activities to optimize accounts with the highest potential.
  • Act as an ambassador for innovation and commitment to science in the rare disease space.
  • Provide training on treatment and product‑specific aspects through virtual or face‑to‑face channels.
  • Analyze business and patient access opportunities and threats, providing actionable insights to address barriers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to co‑create educational formats such as peer‑to‑peer meetings and roundtables.
  • Plan and execute educational programs, network meetings, and digital events within the territory.
  • Set and manage travel schedules and call plans to ensure adequate coverage of key accounts.
Key Skills and Requirements
  • A degree in Science, Economics, or qualification as a pharmaceutical representative under the Medicines Act (Arzneimittelgesetz).
  • Experience in commercial roles within hospital, academic medical center, or biotech industries; rare disease experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to work within cross‑functional teams to address patient and caregiver needs.
  • Strong learning agility to understand rare disease administration.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage risk effectively.
  • High willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Proficiency in English with a willingness to further develop communication skills.
