What you will be doing
- Prepare and monitor short‑term and long‑range plans regarding expansion procedures, staffing, equipment, vehicles and products at the operations.
- Assist in providing technical training to personnel in workshops, seminars and on‑the‑job training sessions in such areas as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, cost effectiveness and manpower scheduling.
- Monitor productivity, service and cost performance in all areas of operations and assist personnel in implementing required changes.
- Maintain communication between operations and corporate departments to provide technical expertise relating to facility requests, including lease termination, new location, five‑year planning, equipment justification, layout, vehicle planning and cost justification.
- Assis in studies designed to implement sound, innovative engineering concepts into operations and thus produce benefits for FedEx and our customers.
- Produce operational business requirement specifications and contribute to business cases.
- Create and manage project plans; monitor and review project progress and timelines; adjust schedules and plans as needed.
- Present project development and results to upper management.
What do you bring with you
- Degree or professional qualification in Industrial Engineering or quantitative discipline.
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken; additional European language would be a plus (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Italian).
- Strong analytical skills.
- High MS Excel skills; formulas, dynamic charts, macros.
- Programming skills (e.g. VBA for Excel, Python, etc.) are a plus.
- Data analysis skills (e.g. SQL, MS PowerBI, etc.) are a plus.
- Project management certification (e.g. PMI or PRINCE2) is a plus.
- Knowledge on Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain or logistics is a plus.
- At least two years of experience working as an operations engineer in manufacturing or services areas, supporting operations areas, positions such as Quality Engineer, Operations Engineer, Process Engineer or continuous improvement engineers.
- Implementation and managing of KPIs such as productivity and efficiency.
- Developing procedures and operative manuals.
- Mapping and analyzing processes.
- Prepare and present reports.
- Performing cost and benefit analysis.
- Training people, operative and administrative.
- Experienced in time and movements analysis, line balancing or routes calculation.
- Leading root‑cause analysis initiatives using analysis tools such as Pareto, Ishikawa, trend analysis, etc.
