We are seeking a high‑calibre Head of Group Controlling to lead a global controlling function through the next phase of growth and value creation. As a pivotal member of the finance leadership team in a private‑equity backed services organisation, you will be responsible for establishing a robust control environment, building a best‑in‑class reporting framework, and driving financial performance across a rapidly scaling, multi‑jurisdictional group.

This role combines technical excellence with strong business partnering, operational visibility, and the ability to challenge senior stakeholders. It requires someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, change‑oriented environment with high expectations around accuracy, speed, and insight.

Key Responsibilities

Group Controlling & Reporting

• Own and further develop the Group month‑end close, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful reporting to the CFO, CEO, Board, and PE shareholders.
• Lead consolidation for multi‑entity, multi‑currency operations; oversee statutory and management accounts.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecasts, aligning financial performance to strategic objectives.
• Enhance the monthly reporting pack, KPIs, and dashboards to provide deeper operational and commercial visibility.

Financial Governance & Controls

• Design and embed a strong internal control framework, appropriate for a PE‑backed environment.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, and financial policies.
• Oversee external audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions across jurisdictions.
• Standardise processes across the Group; identify and remove inefficiencies.

Business Partnering

• Work closely with operational and commercial leaders to drive accountability and improved performance.
• Provide data‑driven insights on revenue, margins, cash flow, and key operational drivers.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and senior leadership on financial risk, strategic initiatives, and investment decisions.

Systems, Tools & Transformation

• Lead optimisation of the ERP and reporting landscape, ensuring accuracy, automation, and scalability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives around data quality, forecasting accuracy, and reporting speed.
• Support integration activities related to acquisitions (if applicable): financial due diligence, onboarding, system alignment, and synergy tracking.

Leadership

• Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing Group Controlling team.
• Foster a culture of ownership, commercial thinking, and operational excellence.
• Work effectively with PE stakeholders, delivering transparency and insight under tight deadlines.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in Head of Controlling / Group Controller / Senior FP&A / Finance Leadership roles within a fast‑paced, multi‑entity organisation.
• Experience in a private‑equity backed environment strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Deep understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
• Track record of improving financial processes, systems, and controls.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including board‑level reporting.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and driving clarity in scaling or transforming businesses.
• Self‑starter with a hands‑on ethos and high attention to detail.
