Overview

As Head of Design System (m / f / d), you will manage the personnel and technical aspects of a large area of responsibility. You will be the point of contact for complex and particularly difficult issues with strong decision-making and decision-making authority.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for development, implementation and adoption of a unified design-to-code design system that ensures consistent visual language and component scalability across all digital products
• You oversee the integration and continuous improvement of design tokens and reusable UI elements that support rapid iteration and robust user experiences
• You establish and refine advanced tools to streamline cross-functional collaboration between design, engineering, and product teams
• You leverage user feedback and usability testing insights to iteratively enhance the design system, aligning it with evolving brand identity, product requirements and technology trends
• You are responsible for selecting new employees, organizing the team, motivating employees, initiating training and further development and promoting talent
• You cascade the overarching strategy into your own area and develop design system strategies, basic regulations and workflow adoptions
• You optimize the area of responsibility based on key figures, increase process efficiency and perform budget planning tasks
• You represent work results to the higher management level
• You are involved in projects

Qualifications and skills

• Experience in developing and maintaining detailed design documentation and component libraries
• Many years of experience in combining design craft with deep understanding of frontend standards, native UI patterns, and platform conventions like web and mobile apps
• Many years of experience of user experience and design of high-tech international consumer products
• Many years of experience in mentoring creative teams to foster a culture of design excellence and continuous improvement
• Many years of experience in strategic design projects and related execution to optimize design work flows and processes
• Several years of experience in the independent and binding planning and management of new topics
• Strong experience with a holistic (integrated) perspective
• Strong knowledge of budget and cost management
• Strong knowledge of technical standards around frontends and native user interfaces
• Excellent experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation
