The opportunity

We are seeking a Global Grading and Compensation Lead (f/m/d) to lead and evolve our global compensation framework. This role will be responsible for the grading methodology, managing the Annual Salary Review process within Workday, establishing and maintaining salary ranges, and overseeing data submissions for external salary benchmarking. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in compensation strategy, deep knowledge and experience in grading with strong analytical capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to support our business goals and ensure market competitiveness. The location for this role is flexible within Europe and will be determined in subsequent stages.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of a scalable job grading methodology based on the Mercer Job Catalog, ensuring alignment with organizational structure and market practices.
  • Oversee the Annual Salary Review cycle in Workday, including planning, system setup, execution, and post‑cycle analytics.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Finance to ensure budget adherence and policy compliance during salary reviews.
  • Develop and maintain salary structures by job family, level, and location, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Analyze compensation data and provide insights on program effectiveness through regular reviews and reporting.
  • Manage compensation benchmarking submissions and interpret market trends to guide strategic decisions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of compensation professionals, fostering high performance and development.
  • Advise senior leadership, HR, and Finance on compensation strategy, and deliver training on frameworks and tools.
Your background
  • 7 years+ overall professional experience in a global matrix environment
  • 5+ years of experience in salary review/management and grading positions, preferably in a global industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday compensation modules and processes.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with strong business acumen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus.
