Jobbeschreibung

Spacebase offers companies the opportunity to rent out unique meeting or workshop locations in just few clicks. From the old gas station, to the wine cellar, to a boxing ring, the sharing economy allows companies to work in unusual, creative spaces, as innovative as they are.

We are looking for a full stack developer who is keen on working in all areas of the cutting‑edge architecture.

You will be based in our awesome office in Berlin‑Kreuzberg (near U8 and U1 and plenty delicious eateries).

The Job:

  • You’ll help us fulfill our customers’ wishes, writing new features and expanding existing ones
  • You’ll also help us keep them happy, squashing the bugs that occasionally pop up (yes, we’re human!)
  • And finally, you’ll help the whole team by being a great person to work with

The ideal candidate should:

  • have 3+ years of professional experience with Django (or have a lot of excellent code in public repositories)
  • be used to developing with TDD
  • have a good working relationship with Python classes,
(incl. understand what happens when subclassing etc)
  • be comfortable reading code
  • be comfortable asking questions when something is unclear
  • not be afraid to speak their mind when necessary
  • know when to add comments and - even more importantly - when not to add comments
  • be OK with using jQuery when needed
  • know how computers work and how client/server systems work, in general
  • be willing to learn and read up when needed
  • love new tech and frameworks, and stuff - but understand that new is not necessarily better
  • understand how databases work
  • fit well into the nicest team in Berlin

The skills that are required:

  • excellent written and spoken English

Extra points for:

  • Ansible
  • Celery
  • Enough SQL to understand what happens in a query

What we offer:

  • The nicest team in Berlin (and potentially the world)
  • Cutting edge, state of the art, professional coffee machine and the best blend of beans from visit coffee (we also have tea)
  • Dynamic company culture - we are both very relaxed and super ambitious
  • Team events, beer Fridays (every Friday), a (half broken) ping pong table, one of the coolest offices in the center of cool Berlin‑Kreuzberg
  • Flexibility to work from home (but we would like to have you present most of the time - we just appreciate the human touch)
  • Full health insurance (this is true for all jobs in Germany - just pointing it out
  • Full family healthcare
  • Dog friendly office
  • Paid vacation
  • Free drinks
