Overview

Founding Engineer (Backend / Systems) – AI PropTech Startup – Berlin – hybrid

• €70,000–€80,000 base + meaningful equity (virtual shares)

We\'re working with a fast-growing AI PropTech startup, founded in late 2024, operating across 5 regions in Germany. The business is already live and scaling - but the tech is at a turning point.

Today, operations rely on white-label tools and manual workflows. Having raised pre-seed, your mission is to build the internal engine that automates property management at scale.

This is a true founding engineer role - technical hire 1. You’ll design and build the core backend and data backbone that connects portals, ERPs, vendors, and internal workflows - reducing manual work and unlocking growth.

Greenfield. High ownership. Real-world impact.

You’ll work closely with the founders, lead key architecture decisions, and spend the first months hands-on as the sole engineer, before hiring and leading the team as the company scales.

Must have:

• Proven experience building 0?1 systems (greenfield, real users, real constraints)

• Python, Typescript, or similar - Strong backend engineering and systems design capability

• Experience owning architecture and technical decisions end-to-end

• Comfortable working independently and pragmatically in an early-stage environment

• German at ~B2 level (to understand UI, workflows, and domain language)

Nice to have:

• Automation-first mindset (e.g. n8n, Make, integrations, APIs)

• Experience in workflow-heavy or operations-driven products

• Startup or scale-up background

• Exposure to cloud-native systems (stack is open and chosen by you)
