A technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing is looking for a FIELD APPLICATIONS ENGINEER in Dresden, Germany. The role involves providing applications support, driving acceptance of innovative inspection tools at customer sites, and requires a strong technical background in optics and semiconductor technologies. Candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree and experience in the semiconductor industry. This position requires frequent travel (over 50%) and excellent communication skills.

We are looking for a FIELD APPLICATIONS ENGINEER to provide applications support for the development and implementation of KLA inspection tools for the LS Division at customer facilities.
Technical Support: Driving acceptance of new tools at customer sites. Create recipes for regular production support. Develop Best Known Methods for customer use cases, driving product adoption and differentiation vs. competition. Train operators & engineers on the equipment. Analyze tool performance and work in team with Service and Tech Support organization on problem solving. Work on complex problems and develop unique solutions to meet customers’ requirements.
Project Management: Identify and manage priorities and milestones. Develop clear project schedule and track progress. Work in synergy with defectivity and metrology applications engineers, business unit management and division. Develop value proposition and effective project summaries for executive meetings.
Communication: Establish regular communication with the customer. Present and highlight the system values for customer use cases and differentiation vs. competition. Communicate results and issues with the division. Execute plan of actions and collect data.
Pre‑sale Support: Assist sales and marketing in potential opportunities and/or competitive situation. Helping with brainstorming strategy for penetration of new customers and adoption.
The candidate needs to be a hands‑on type of person, aggressively interested in learning new things and keen on communicating with customers and internally. Frequent (> 50%) travel is required.
