The Role

We are hiring an Electrical Apprentice whose primary responsibility is to assist in the assembly and installation of ground-mounted and rooftop photovoltaic (PV) solar systems under the direction of a Foreman or Journeyman Electrician. The Electrical Apprentice will support all phases of commercial solar construction and must adhere to all safety and quality standards. This position requires travel to various job sites and active enrollment in an approved electrical apprentice training program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of solar electrical components under direction of a Foreman
  • Support PV installation team with setup and teardown of job sites
  • Complete daily assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with team members and clients
  • Participate in required training and apprenticeship development programs
  • Support high standards of quality assurance and control
  • Document work completed as instructed by site leadership
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Actively enrolled in a recognized Electrical Apprentice Program
  • General construction knowledge or background
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Previous experience with solar PV systems or electrical installations
  • Experience using hand and power tools in a construction environment
  • Knowledge of basic electrical components and installation techniques
  • Ability to install and repair solar electrical equipment and fixtures
  • Willingness to travel and work outdoors in all conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and work on rooftops
  • Willingness to perform physical tasks including climbing, bending, kneeling, and repetitive motion
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
