About the Role

EA3 Senior Technicians

Location: United Kingdom — Homeworking and Teleworking; Location Independent. Organization: Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Limited. Business Unit: Wind Power, Offshore. Engagement: Full-time. Experience Level: Experienced Professional

A snapshot of your day

As a Senior Technician you will be responsible for technical day-to-day on- and offshore operations reporting to the local Site Manager. The role is based offshore at the East Anglia THREE site for difficult technical cases; on-site work may be required. The working schedule will be a rotation of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Plan technical work by providing detailed documentation, tools, parts, and time estimates needed for tasks.
  • Advise coordinators, technicians, warehouse managers, and site managers on technical scopes and requirements.
  • Prioritize unplanned work in wind turbine generator systems on a day-to-day basis.
  • Handle technical cases and provide guidance on materials needed for troubleshooting events.
  • Prepare for long-term work, including retrofits and service tasks.
  • Review and align new retrofits and customer bulletins with back office resources.
  • Write specific work instructions, risk assessments, and checklists as needed.
  • Review and follow up on customer inspection reports.
  • Prepare and participate in technical toolbox talks based on safety alerts and field findings.
  • Maintain a Safe System of Work for wind turbine generator plants and low voltage apparatus.
  • Set to work technician teams effectively to ensure operational efficiency.

What you bring

  • A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to leading change in the industry.
  • Further vocational education or relevant experience in a technical field is desirable.
  • A good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as turbine components and systems.
  • An individual passionate about achieving goals with knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality standards.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, including MS Office, CRsP, ATS, SAP, Teamcenter, Qsys, and other key business applications.
  • Authorization as a Technician under WTSR is preferable.
  • Strong communication, people management, and leadership skills.
