As part of the Bayer CropScience Small Molecules (SMol) group, our team collaborates across the organization to enable data- and model-informed innovation and decision-making. We are now looking for a Digital Workflow Engineer to strengthen our digital capabilities in agricultural research and development.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You work in a fast-paced, collaborative R&D environment
  • You design and build systems using TypeScript, Node.js, and React to interact with automated laboratory and greenhouse machinery
  • You design and maintain databases, develop SQL queries, and create JSON-based APIs
  • You actively contribute feedback during product design and specification processes
  • You take ownership of the full software lifecycle, including development, debugging, testing, implementation, support, and continuous improvement
  • You apply creativity and independent thinking to solve complex challenges in agricultural research
YOUR PROFILE
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or bring equivalent practical experience
  • You have solid experience in software development, database design, or server administration
  • You have strong expertise in SQL query development and relational database design
  • You are experienced in developing JSON APIs
  • You are familiar with Git and GitHub Actions; experience with Docker and CI/CD tools is a plus
  • You are enthusiastic, creative, proactive, and comfortable thinking outside the box
  • You bring high energy, strong goal orientation, and a hands‑on “can‑do” attitude
  • You collaborate closely with teams in a greenhouse environment and are comfortable working in high temperatures and elevated humidity when required
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing; English is your primary working language

This is a fixed-term position for 12 months.
