Join our team as Legal Counsel Data Privacy and become a trusted advisor on all matters of data protection and regulation. In this role, you will guide stakeholders with expert advice, align priorities, and empower the organization to use data responsibly while mitigating risks. Your work will help shape innovative solutions that balance compliance with business needs, ensuring privacy remains at the core of our operations.
- Develop and implement privacy strategy by aligning priorities with stakeholders based on risk, relevance, and business needs.
- Provide expert, tailored legal advice on data protection and privacy compliance to enable business objectives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate privacy‑related contracts and ensure proper legal documentation, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Support incident management by advising on data breaches, handling customer complaints, and mitigating privacy risks.
- Monitor and adapt to evolving regulations (e.g., GDPR, BDSG) and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Collaborate on innovative and scalable compliance solutions that enable responsible data use and new technologies in a European context.
Your profile
- Full law qualification (Master’s degree in law or equivalent) and eligibility for bar admission; German qualified lawyer preferred.
- 3+ years of experience advising on and implementing privacy regulations in a global or EU‑wide company.
- Strong expertise in data privacy laws and compliance frameworks, especially GDPR and BDSG.
- Proven ability to conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and manage privacy risks effectively.
- Track record of implementing privacy requirements in complex business and technology environments.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide clear, actionable guidance in complex settings.
- Proactive, independent work style with strong commitment to quality, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration.
