We are partnering with a leading, fast-growing data centre developer that is expanding its footprint across Germany. Due to sustained growth, they are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead the identification, permitting, and delivery of new data centre projects nationwide.
This is a rare opportunity to join a top-tier development platform, working on some of the most advanced and strategically important data centre projects in Europe.
As Development Manager, you will take ownership of projects from initial site identification through to construction handover. You will be responsible for driving development strategy, managing permitting and planning processes, and coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure projects progress efficiently and compliantly.
You will work at the intersection of real estate, power infrastructure, and digital development, playing a critical role in enabling hyperscale and enterprise data centre growth in Germany.
Identify, assess, and secure land for new data centre developments across Germany
Lead site feasibility assessments, including grid access, zoning, environmental, and technical constraints
Manage planning and permitting processes with local authorities and regulators
Engage and negotiate with landowners, municipalities, utilities, and grid operators (TSOs/DSOs)
Develop business cases, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments
Coordinate internal teams and external consultants throughout the development lifecycle
Ensure smooth handover to construction and delivery teams
Proven experience in project or development management, ideally within data centres, energy infrastructure, industrial real estate, or large-scale infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of German planning, permitting, and land development processes
Experience working with municipalities, utilities, and regulatory bodies
Commercially astute with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Fluent in German and English (essential)
Willingness to travel across Germany as required
