A research institute in Mainz is seeking a motivated data manager to oversee data governance processes. You will educate staff on research data management and manage the institute's data sharing platform. Qualifications include a Master's degree in a relevant field and experience with big data. IMB (www.imb.de) is a research institute on the campus of Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. It is generously funded by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation and the state of Rhineland‑Palatinate. Our research focuses on epigenetics, DNA repair, developmental biology and ageing and ranges from the molecular level to organismic, systems and computational approaches. Researchers at IMB are supported by strong core facilities that offer state‑of‑the‑art services. For a parental leave cover we are looking for a motivated data manager. Candidates with previous experience in research data management are strongly encouraged to apply.
The purpose of this position is to oversee the existing data governance processes, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance with policy and/or regulatory obligations. In addition, the data manager is responsible for educating IMB staff in good practices for research data management and administrating IMB’s research data sharing platform (FAIRDOM‑SEEK) for sharing relevant research data generated within IMB and its different research initiatives.
