Your role as Risk Underwriter (RUW) is to support the GCS team with the risk analysis of Infrastructure and Asset-backed Financing (incl. Commercial Real Estate) as well as to take or prepare independent credit decisions in conjunction with the Client Relationship & Risk Manager (CRRM).

Your Job
  • Independently analyse complex structures of project / infrastructure and asset-backed financings - both in the context of single risk as well as portfolio transactions (the latter with focus on underwriting quality of the bank)
  • Prepare internal credit applications, making informed recommendations and providing internal stakeholders and clients with reasoned explanations for decisions
  • Determine the maximum risk appetite for large single transactions involving multiple cedents
  • Monitoring and steering of existing (sub-)portfolios; identification of significant risks at an early stage and initiate appropriate risk measures
  • Cooperate closely with a deal team and participate in client meetings on specific deals or due diligence purposes
  • Assist with the examination and development of strategic growth initiatives and new business opportunities
  • Support efforts to enhance existing tools, credit risk management systems and processes
Your Profile
  • Master degree, preferably in business or economics or with a scientific focus; additional qualifications such as CFA or equivalent are a strong advantage
  • Several years’ professional experience in the field of project / infrastructure finance and other asset-backed finance structure (e.g. commercial real estate) across various sectors and regions
  • Expertise in the field of IT infrastructure, renewable energy and energy transition are an advantage
  • Relevant product knowledge of cash‑flow based financing structures and thorough understanding financial models
  • In-depth knowledge of credit risk management in banks (incl. rating methodologies) and a keen interest in economic, political and regulatory topics (especially ESG)
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with a pronounced risk awareness and sense of responsibility, independent and result‑oriented working style, ability to justify decisions in a clear and comprehensible manner
  • Sound conduct of MS‑Office (especially Excel and Power BI) and interest for AI supported analysis
  • Strong team player and confident demeanour, able to contribute in a dynamic and collaborative environment
  • Very good written and verbal command of English; additional business‑relevant languages are an advantage
