Your role

As the Director of Community Management at Aesir Interactive, you will lead and own the strategic vision for our player communities across multiple titles and platforms. You will guide a team of community professionals, align crossfunctional stakeholders, and ensure that our brand voice, player engagement and community health are worldclass. Your mission: build longterm loyalty, advocate for our players internally, and drive community impact aligning with the business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own the community strategy across multiple games and platforms, from pre launch through live service operations.
  • Set the tone, policies and standards for community management across Aesir Interactive ensuring consistency, brand alignment, inclusivity and scalability.
  • Lead, mentor and grow a team of community managers to execute the strategy.
  • Engage directly with key online communities (Discord, Reddit, Steam, social channels), influencer networks and ambassador programmes to maximise reach and engagement.
  • Monitor global community sentiment, trends, issues and crises; provide regular reports to senior leadership with actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with development, liveops, marketing and PR teams to ensure community voice is integrated into game feature planning, update communication, and release strategies.
  • Oversee creation of high impact community content (dev blogs, live streams, Q&A, player spotlights, campaigns) and approve major communication assets.
  • Lead major community events (digital and physical) and coordinate with press/PR teams when required.
  • Define, track and optimise community KPIs and tie them to business outcomes.
  • Lead and evolve the player communities for our full game portfolio.
  • Serve as the internal voice of the community and facilitate meaningful two way communication between players and Aesir Interactive.
  • Ensure all community messaging, tone and engagement align with our brand values and foster an inclusive, positive environment.
  • Drive content and event programming to support long term community health, growth and retention.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on community health, sentiment, feedback and key metrics; derive insights and recommendations for product, marketing and live ops.
  • Maintain high standards in all community touch points from moderation to public communications.
  • Support and guide marketing, PR and development teams on community strategy, risk mitigation and engagement best practices.
Profile
  • 8+ years of experience in community management or player engagement roles, preferably within the games industry. The higher service, live, global scale is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German is ONLY a plus.
  • Deep understanding of online gaming communities, player behaviours, and gaming culture.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence across departments, and build scalable processes and programmes.
  • Familiarity with community / social tools, platforms and analytics (Discord, Reddit, Twitch, YouTube, Steam, social listening, KPI dashboards).
  • Experience working with influencers/content creators and building creator ecosystems is a strong plus.
  • Strategic mindset, able to think big picture and also execute tactically, solution oriented, proactive and self organised.
  • Passion for games, inclusive community building, and player first thinking.
