We are offering a position as a Category Manager in Germany.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a Category Manager to strengthen our team. This role involves developing Category Management into a strategic growth driver and acting as a strategic partner for sales and marketing to promote long-term category growth. The position reports to the Head of Category Management.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the profitable implementation of the annual sales plan and commercial efficiency initiatives.
  • Lead and manage category management processes from strategy to execution.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies for categories and translate successful brand strategies into commercial channel strategies.
  • Develop cross-channel strategies and ensure consistent implementation in key retail environments such as discount stores, drugstores, and grocery retail.
  • Provide actionable insights through analyses of sales and market share development, assortment, pricing, and effectiveness of trade promotions, and identify optimization potentials.
  • Deep understanding of the German retail landscape and key customers, along with levers for growth through category management insights.
  • Enhance cross-functional collaboration with marketing to develop strong commercial plans and support new product launches.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the DACH retail environment in the FMCG sector.
  • Experience working in a multinational matrix organization.
  • Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Passion for data-driven storytelling.
  • Initiative, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to persuade others with integrity, managing multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create planograms and utilize Nielsen data.
  • Fluent in German and very good English skills.
  • GS1 Category Manager certification is a plus.
