Job Description

Marine Insurance Broker - Hamburg (Permanent, Full Time)

Salary up to €65,000 depending on experience

Are you looking to take the next step in your maritime career and join an international marine insurance broker? This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with 1-3 years' experience in the maritime or marine insurance sector to build a long term career in a supportive and team focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Day to day client support and advisory, with regular direct contact
• Helping develop bespoke insurance solutions, primarily in H&M and P&I
• Reviewing and analysing policy data using Excel and internal systems
• Preparing market comparisons, statistics and presentation materials
• Assisting with claims-related queries as needed
• Collaborating with colleagues across global offices
• Occasional travel to meet clients internationally, where appropriate

You’ll be part of a small team of brokers, supported by an experienced team lead and colleagues from other specialist departments.

Candidate Profile

• Currently working in marine insurance broking, underwriting or claims
• From a shipping or maritime studies background, with commercial awareness
• Comfortable dealing with numbers and documents accurately
• A team player who’s curious, reliable, and happy to learn from others
• Fluent in English (C1 level); German language skills are a plus but not essential
• Eligible to work in the EU (EU passport or valid work permit required)

This is not a stepping stone role, the team are looking for someone who wants to stay long term and develop deep expertise in the marine insurance space.
