A leading educational institution is seeking a dedicated bookkeeper to provide essential administrative and financial support. The role involves maintaining school finances, processing purchases, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Candidates should have an Associate’s Degree and relevant experience, with strong communication and organizational abilities.

Receives, writes receipts for, counts, and verifies money for various activities.
Prepares deposits in accordance with school and district procedures.
Collects and organizes all spending receipts related to school expenses.
Uploads receipts to the designated financial management system promptly and accurately.
Ensures all receipts are properly documented and categorized.
Communicates with vendors concerning purchase orders, receives supplies, and verifies against purchase orders to process payments.
Ensures compliance with all school, district, state, and federal financial regulations and responsibilities.
Supports internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reporting.
Provides other clerical support such as selling student activities tickets, answering phones for the front office, and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s Degree; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience’ Four years of broad, varied, and increasingly responsible experience, preferably three or more years working as an executive assistant in K-12 or postsecondary institutions. Preference will be given to those with prior experience working as a school bookkeeper.
Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills with an ability to tailor communications appropriately to audiences (parents, students, Board members, community, college partners)
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Knowledge of policies and procedures. Basic accounting principles. Skilled in communicating effectively. Operating personal computer software such as word processing and spreadsheets. Using Workday software. Ability to work independently. Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Complete assigned duties and tasks in a timely manner.
Terms
The bookkeeper reports to the principal; this is a 12-month position.
