Your role

As a Backend Engineer at mula, you will help strengthen and evolve our backend platform as we work toward becoming the most digitally integrated B2B Merchandise Platform globally. With 3 – 4 years of experience, you will contribute to impactful backend topics, from shop features to API integrations, and help us build reliable, scalable and maintainable systems.

Your tasks

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python (Django).
• Contribute to the design and improvement of backend components and architecture.
• Build and enhance integrations with HR, CRM, and other third‑party systems.
• Implement and maintain client‑facing APIs, ensuring high quality and strong documentation.
• Work on a range of backend challenges such as shop features, payment integrations (Stripe), automations, plugins, SSO, Adobe automation, and internal / public APIs.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and support teams to solve cross‑functional problems.
• Help us deliver a clean, fast, reliable, and scalable platform experience.
• Share knowledge with the team and contribute to a culture of learning and best practices.

Your profile

• 3 – 4 years of professional experience in backend development with Django.
• Comfortable with lean and agile product development in fast‑moving environments.
• Solid understanding of REST API design; knowledge of SOAP is a plus.
• Familiarity with at least some of the following technologies: PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, AWS, EKS, Node.js, Next.js, JavaScript, React, Docker.

Nice to have :

• Exposure to serverless architectures, AWS services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB), AWS certifications, Cybersecurity awareness.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to document your work clearly.
• Independent, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Based in Berlin.
