Job summary

Montblanc seeks an Analytics Engineer – Finance to own data modelling and reporting for CFO, Controlling and FP&A. You will create scalable data models, Develop dashboards and maintain data quality while collaborating with senior finance stakeholders in a fast-paced luxury brand environment.

You should bring strong SQL, dbt, LookML and Excel skills, plus experience in governance, CI/CD testing and cloud data warehouses. Fluent English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with dbt and BigQuery to build/maintain data models.
• Proficient LookML and Looker for enterprise finance reporting.
• Strong SQL skills and expertise in data modelling for P&L, budgeting, forecasting.
• Excellent Excel skills; ability to handle complex mappings and manual reporting.
• Translate business needs into scalable data models and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Own data modelling and reporting for CFO, Controlling, FP&A.
• Build and test data transformation pipelines in GCP.
• Collaborate with finance and data teams to align requirements.

You’ll have…

• strong experience with dbt and BigQuery in building, testing, and maintaining data transformation models on GCP
• expertise in LookML and Looker to build data models, Explores, and dashboards for enterprise financial reporting
• strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries in BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
• strong Excel skills and be comfortable working with complex spreadsheets, mapping tables, and manual reporting processes, and you understand that not everything is automated yet
• the ability to connect finance and data teams while translating business needs (P&L, budgeting, forecasting, cost allocations) into scalable data models
• a proven track record of working with senior stakeholders (CFO, Controlling, Accounting)
• reliability and attention to detail in recurring operational tasks such as closing processes, regulatory reporting, and data maintenance ensuring precision and consistency
• a solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and testing practices (e.g. dbt tests, CI/CD pipelines)
• a structured and independent working style with a strong team spirit
• very good written and spoken English skills; German is a plus
• ideally, exposure to Python for automation and data processing
• ideally, experience with RPA & automation in SAP (e.g. UiPath, Power Automate, SAP scripting) – especially valuable for reducing the manual workload over time
• ideally, familiarity with ETL/ELT workflows, APIs, and data orchestration tools
• ideally, understanding of finance systems like SAP, NetSuite, or ERP integrations
