Our Resources subsector, a key component of WSP's ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. This division provides a full range of services to industrial and mining projects, from conceptual and feasibility studies to complete detailed engineering in EPCM, and the closure and dismantling of mine sites. To meet our growth challenges, WSP is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our offices in Ontario (Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie) or Saskatchewan (Saskatoon).

The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge and a proven track record in Civil Engineering within an engineering consulting environment. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will oversee and lead the design, construction, and maintenance of various heavy industrial civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and client requirements. You will be responsible for technical quality, cost-effectiveness, building and maintaining client relationships, and guiding a team of designers. You will play a key role in driving our resource team’s growth and service enhancements in the province and beyond.

What you can expect to do here :

• Design site plans covering site services, grading, earthworks, water and stormwater management, access roads, and drainage systems.
• Develop, verify, and finalize technical deliverables such as drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of project deliverables through thorough reviews.
• Provide construction support and conduct site reviews.
• Prepare permit applications and supporting documents.
• Assist in proposal and fee estimate preparations.
• Support project management to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to WSP :

• B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering, particularly in Civil Design and Site Planning.
• Experience with heavy industrial projects preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
• Professional Engineering Licence in Ontario (P.Eng) or other provinces.
• Eligibility for federal security clearance.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; knowledge of Visual OTTHYMO, Pix4D, Revit is an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid G driver's license.
