JOB TITLE: Custodian

LOCATION: Zhiibaahaasing First Nation

REPORTS TO: Band Manager

TERM: Permanent, Part-time (10 to 15 hrs a Week)

SALARY RANGE: $20.00 to $25.00/hr

The custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that Zhiibaahaasing First Nations Band Office and complex is maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. The custodian will be responsible for cleaning assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants .

• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming
• Monthly deep cleaning
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms and other common areas
• Cleaning of kitchen
• Empty trash and ensure proper disposal of waste
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies
• Report maintenance issues or repairs needed
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals
• Help create a clean and welcoming environment for all staff and visitors
• Ability to work independently
• Replenish toilet paper and soap as needed
• Maintain safe and clear entrances, walkways, and emergency exits
• Report safety hazards or potential risks to the supervisor immediately
• Perform deep cleans after events
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replacements when needed
• Other duties

• Previous experience in general cleaning and building maintenance
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and procedures
• WHIMIS considered a strong asset
• Strong Attention to details and time management skills

• This role is performed by using physical labour such as pushing, lifting, and carrying
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
