The Women in STEM Excel (WiSE) Co-op program accelerates the development of future women leaders by providing a customized experience for participants:

• Participate in a week of onboarding and integration activities starting on your first day at CGI, including: business etiquette workshop, foundations of business consulting workshops, developing your elevator pitch workshop, networking with peers across Canada, exposure to leaders through interactive sessions and a 1:1 mentorship with a CGI woman leader, and obtain the ScaledAgile SAFe for Teams Certification: Technical Skills Agility (ScaledAgile). SAFe for Teams will teach you all about your role on an Agile team and how agile teams work with others as part of an agile release train, including how to plan and execute work, apply Scaled Agile Framework and Agile principles, and continuously improve.
• Expand your network by participating in national and local social activities with other co-ops
• Develop your own learning plan by leveraging our e-learning platform

Position Description

This position is for a software developer/ test automation consultant to work as a member of the Insurance Information Services (IIS) Delivery/Operations team.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the Operations team, the incumbent will:

• Review manual processes within the Delivery/Operations team and replace with automation to make our processes more efficient/effective.
• Work with various groups (operations, new product development, test automation) to define requirements for automation opportunities.
• Use strong analysis and development skills to determine appropriate tools (UI Path, Katalon, Scripting languages, VBA etc.) to deliver required automation.
• Follow the SDLC cycle and CGI processes to ensure development, quality and delivery standards are met.
• Provide stakeholders transparency on automation tasks and status.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Key Skills:

• Proficient in one or many programming/scripting languages (Java/JavaScript/Groovy/C#, VBScript)
• Hands on SQL experience with relational databases
• Nice to have: Strong working experience in test automation tools like Selenium, Katalon Studio, Cucumber BDD, Postman/SOAP UI for API testing
• Nice to have: Experience in RPA Automation/UI Path
• Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
