  • Contract Date: ASAP - March 26, 2026 (Approximately)
  • Openings: Up to 4 vacancies
  • Hourly Rate: $31.80 per hour (effective October 1, 2025)
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday. Evening and weekend overtime opportunities may be available during winter storms

What you'll do

As a member of Planning, Development & Public Works, the Winter Maintenance Operator will be responsible for various winter maintenance activities such as sanding, salting, snow and ice removal, and maintenance and repair services to County roads.

  • Work Schedule: To ensure coverage for public safety, the Winter Maintenance Operator work schedule includes both a day and night shift; shifts will be assigned by management. You may also be required to work evenings and weekends to ensure safety and compliance during winter storms
  • Road & Roadside Maintenance: You will perform activities such as traffic control (flagging), sign repair and replacement, fence and guide rail installs and replacements, road and culvert clean up and repairs, and assistance with other road maintenance duties as assigned
  • Equipment Operation: You will be assisting with the maintenance of road conditions by operating a one-person plow truck for sanding, salting and plowing roads, and front end loaders to load trucks. You will be required to perform routine inspection and maintenance, and may be required to transport personnel, equipment and materials between work sites throughout the County

In accordance with County Policy, a Police Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.
