What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead technical analyses related to water balance modeling
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and engineering studies
- Interact with and potentially lead multidisciplinary project teams
- Advise clients on mine water management strategies through alternatives analyses
- Perform business development activities, including conference presentations and proposal writing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in math, science, engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience developing water balance models and designing surface water impoundments
- Proficient in statistical analysis of hydrological data and advising clients on mine water management
- Valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- More than 10 years of experience in a consulting engineering firm or at a mining/industrial worksite
- Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or PhD) in civil or environmental engineering
- P.Eng. registration or eligibility for immediate registration with APEGA
- Familiarity with hydrologic modeling software such as GoldSim or HEC-RAS
- Experience with mine closure and reclamation planning
