Warehouse Operator

Position Summary

The Warehouse Operator is a key role primarily responsible for the timely and efficient flow of materials through the warehouse and in the dockyard to support ship maintenance activity. Manual and automated functions include but will not be limited to the processing of receipts, shipping requirements, inventory control related tasks and material routing functions to/from the dockyard for maintenance work.

Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming materials, shipments, and documentation.
  • Prepare, package, document, and ship domestic, U.S., and international freight in compliance with customs, export, and hazardous goods regulations.
  • Pick, issue, move, and store inventory accurately; ensure proper location, handling, and distribution of materials and parts.
  • Perform inventory control functions including cycle counts, stocktaking, monitoring shelf life, and maintaining accurate data in the inventory management system.
  • Operate forklifts, delivery vehicles, and other material handling equipment safely; load/unload transport vehicles and maintain warehouse cleanliness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, reporting, compliance with quality/regulatory standards, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3–5 years of relevant warehouse or logistics experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently under pressure.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems; proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of ITAR, Canadian export/import regulations, and applicable HSE policies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; collaborative and open-minded approach.
  • Proven ability to support innovation, process improvement, and continuous learning.

All applicants must be able to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program and ITAR.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Grade 12 minimum with strong computer skills, experience with material management software systems and warehouse operations experience; and
  • Previous experience in the Defense Industry.
Physical Demands

This role will be physically demanding with the requirement to lift up to 22kg/50lbs and walk or stand for the majority of the working shift.

Special Position Requirements
  • Role will require working on site from the office.
  • Schedule: 40 working hours per week Monday- Friday.
  • Valid forklift license and/or operator experience.
  • Valid & current Provincial driver’s license.

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between 43,451.78 - 72,419.63 CAD annual.
