A volunteer-based organization is seeking English-fluent individuals to join as conversation partners with Ukrainian learners. This role offers a flexible opportunity to connect culturally and help others improve their language skills. Volunteers are expected to engage in weekly one-hour video chats for a minimum of 10–12 weeks, with support and resources provided. No prior teaching experience is needed, making this a unique way to make a positive impact while meeting new friends.
ENGin pairs English-fluent volunteers with Ukrainian learners for weekly online conversation practice. Pairs are matched 1-on-1 based on preferences, interests, and availability to ensure an effective and mutually enjoyable communication experience. After a match is made, ENGin supports learners and volunteers throughout their participation with tips, resources, and problem resolution. We screen every learner and volunteer to ensure fit for the program, and provide training and orientation.
Since launching in 2020, ENGin has connected over 26,000 Ukrainians with over 24,000 volunteers. 99% of our learners report breaking the language barrier after 3 months of participation in our program.

"Fantastic organization doing great work. So happy to be a small part of it. My partner and I have worked together for two years and have become good friends! Her English has become better, and I have become more knowledgeable about Ukraine!"
"This program has been life-changing for both of us. I really consider her more like my daughter right now. That’s how close we have become!"
