Job description
Overview

Bedford Park Capital Corporation is an independent investment firm located in Toronto. We are seeking an accomplished and strategic accounting professional to join our team as Vice President, Finance & Operations. Reporting to the COO and Managing Director, this role will oversee the Finance and Operations function across the firm and its affiliated companies, with responsibility for financial reporting, fund operations, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in IFRS and cross-border consolidation accounting, coupled with proven leadership in financial management, operational financial modeling, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including monthly financial statements, forecasts, advanced financial models and budgets, with a focus on P&L, balance sheet, and cash management.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian financial regulations and standards.
  • Manage external audit and liaise with auditors and regulatory / tax authorities.
  • Coordinate and review the timely completion of Canadian tax compliance matters, including partnership, HST and Canadian T2 returns.
  • Ensure that the firm’s operations and activities adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, offering documentation, exempt distributions, and investor communications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with OSC, CSA, and provincial securities guidelines.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in complex environments.
  • Extensive working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards (IFRS 9 a assets).
  • Proven expertise in developing and interpreting operational financial models to drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-border financial operations and group consolidations.
  • Strong understanding of tax structures, intercompany transactions, and transfer pricing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
