A leading real estate development group in Western Canada is seeking a Vice President of Finance to drive financial strategy and operations. This executive role offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial landscape of a growing organization, influencing key business decisions and leading a team in a dynamic environment.
Vice President of Finance – Real Estate Development
Compensation : Executive-level salary + performance bonus + long-term incentives
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with one of Western Canada’s most active and entrepreneurial real estate groups. Our client—an established, fully integrated developer and asset manager—is looking for a Vice President of Finance to lead all financial strategy, oversight, and execution as the business expands across BC and beyond.
With a diverse portfolio spanning multi-family development, income properties, and construction, this is a role for a commercially minded, operationally sharp finance executive who wants to do more than report on the past—you’ll help shape the company’s future. This is about visibility, influence, and impact. The CEO is deeply engaged, the team is tight, and the capital partners are watching. You’ll be front and centre.
The Opportunity :
This is not a legacy finance department. The organization is growing, and you’ll have the chance to shape structure, process, systems, and strategy from the inside. You’ll oversee all financial operations—corporate and project-level—while supporting everything from capital planning to investor reporting, debt structuring to M&A. You’ll also be a key partner to leadership across development, construction, and asset management.
What You’ll Own :
Full oversight of accounting, finance, and reporting across multiple business units
Strategic forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling at both project and enterprise levels
Oversight of development proformas, capital stack planning, and funding schedules
Leadership of investor reporting, financial presentations, and quarterly updates
Active involvement in deal structuring, acquisitions, and joint ventures
Oversight of external relationships with lenders, auditors, and legal counsel
Team leadership : mentoring and growing a strong accounting and FP&A bench
Systems, controls, and process improvement across a scaling organization
What You Bring :
CPA designation and 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience
Deep exposure to real estate development, ideally including both construction and investment
Experience working in a developer-led or fully integrated real estate group
Comfort with complexity : multiple entities, capital stacks, and investor expectations
Executive presence—you can present to the board, walk a site, and close a deal
Calm under pressure, structured in your thinking, and clear in your communication
This is a full-time, in-office role based in Vancouver. The leadership team believes strongly in presence and proximity. Decisions happen fast, collaboration is real, and your seat at the table matters. There’s flexibility in how you manage your day—but this is not a hybrid position.
Why This Role?
The company is well-capitalized, actively building, and doubling down on growth
Finance is central to the leadership team—this role has real influence
You’ll be the architect of the next phase of financial maturity
Clear opportunity for executive-level impact, visibility, and legacy
The culture is entrepreneurial, fast-moving, and outcome-driven
If you’re a senior finance leader ready to take the reins in a real estate business that builds what it owns—and owns what it builds—this is your next move.
