The VP of Finance will be responsible for the full spectrum of corporate finance operations—including accounting, technical accounting, financial reporting, audit, treasury, tax, compliance, and overall controllership functions. This role is focused on building a world‑class reporting and finance infrastructure that supports our growth, private equity stakeholders, and future public‑company readiness.

This leader will partner closely with the CFO, executive team, auditors, and board to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting and to instill discipline and transparency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting cycles with precision and timeliness. Own preparation of IFRS‑compliant financial statements and management reporting packages. Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures aligned with SOX‑readiness. Manage the relationship with external auditors, ensuring efficient and high‑quality audits.
  • Accounting & Controllership: Lead and elevate all accounting functions, including general ledger, revenue recognition, inventory accounting, cost accounting, AP/AR, and payroll. Strengthen the accounting organization, developing talent and implementing best‑in‑class processes. Drive automation, systems improvements, and scalable workflows to support high growth. Ensure effective treasury management, cash controls, and working capital optimization.
  • Investor, Board & Lender Support: Prepare reporting packages for private equity investors, lenders, and the Board of Directors. Maintain and refine covenant reporting, credit facility compliance, and cash forecasting (excluding FP&A). Partner with the CFO on capital structure planning and future financing or liquidity events.
  • IPO & Public‑Company Readiness: Build the processes, controls, and documentation necessary for a future IPO. Partner with external advisors on audit upgrades, SOX readiness, system selection, and process scaling. Lead development of policies and reporting cadence required for a public‑company environment.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and other teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and inventory valuation. Support commercial teams with financial insights tied to pricing, margin, and unit economics (without owning FP&A). Provide strong mentorship and leadership across the finance and accounting department.
Qualifications
  • 12 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in GAAP, technical accounting, audit, and public‑company readiness.
  • Experience in a PE‑backed, high‑growth CPG, consumer goods, food, or manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record building scalable processes and systems within a rapidly growing organization.
  • Experience preparing for an IPO; SEC reporting experience a plus.
  • CPA required; public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills, executive communication, and ability to influence across the organization.
  • Bias for action, operational mindset, and comfort navigating ambiguity and scale.
What we offer

Opportunity to join a high‑growth, mission‑driven company in a pivotal leadership role. High visibility with private equity partners, board members, and executive leadership. Chance to build the finance infrastructure for a future public‑company trajectory. Comprehensive healthcare coverage and RRSP plans with company match. Great office culture (with lots of adorable pets) where your pet interrupting video calls or in‑person meeting is the norm. Discounted food, apparel and insurance for your furry family members. In addition to your PTO, we offer company‑wide wellness days and personal days to support your wellbeing. Volunteer days to give back to our community.
