Veterinary Assistant

Location: Vancouver, AB

Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital is welcoming a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians with various tasks and the treatment of pet patients
• Providing compassionate care duties, including feeding and walking patients
• Technical skills should include knowledge of patient care and restraint, client care, and surgical assisting
• General hospital maintenance, including cleaning kennels
• Enhance the client’s experience by coordinating between the clients and members of the medical team

Qualifications

• Exceptional client service skills that build trust and loyalty with clients
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a dynamic and diverse team
• Compassion and a nurturing attitude when providing care to clients and patients
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful situations
• Positive outlook and enthusiasm for learning
• Initiative in carrying out assignments independently
• Previous veterinary education or certificate

Compensation

$17.45 to $25.00 per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
