Veterinary Assistant/Customer Care Representative

SIEL Human Solutions on behalf of our client is looking to hire a Full Time Veterinary Assistant/Customer Care Representative for a growing mixed animal practice in rural Saskatchewan. Our client has been in business for over 15 years and works with both small and large animals in every area of veterinarian medicine. They provide mentorship opportunities and take a team approach to difficult cases. They offer a modern facility and are proud to offer a high level of customer service while practicing quality medicine in a friendly atmosphere.

In this role, the Veterinary Assistant/Customer Care Representative is responsible for greeting clients, answering telephone inquiries, scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, and provides support to both the DVM and RVT with various tasks to ensure the patients receive the care and attention they need while at the veterinary clinic.

WHAT YOULL BRING:
  • Experience in a veterinary setting is an asset
  • Advanced computer skills; veterinary software experience is a plus
  • Comfortable with physically demanding tasks; with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be comfortable and able to work indoors and outdoors in varying degrees of weather
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to constant change
  • Willingness to learn all areas of hospital operations
  • Calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations

WHAT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
  • Greet clients, answer phones, schedule appointments
  • Check clients in/out and maintain accurate records
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Safely handle and restrain animals
  • Learn and support diagnostic equipment use
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinic cleanliness, including cleaning after exams and surgery procedures
  • Assist with sample collection and medical appointment preparation
