Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Chief Administrative Officer and under the supervision of the AV and Event Services Lead, the Venue Coordinator is the primary onsite/day of contact for general enquiries, responsible for providing front line support, executing logistical details and activities for events, and resolving issues that may occur during events.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
  • Verifying details and necessary changes to event schedule
  • Coordinating scheduled activities for functions
  • Providing routine information to event organizers
  • Resolving issues that may occur during events and escalating problems as required
  • Verifying that event management guidelines are maintained
  • Collecting feedback on programs or events
  • Providing guided tours of facilities. Providing basic support and general referrals to individuals in distress.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of recent and related experience in the execution of event logistics.
  • Experience providing front-line customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem solving skills, and tact and diplomacy in working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities, work well under pressure, and make sound judgments.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
Assets (Nonessential)
  • Experience providing support for online events.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with audio-visual and film projection equipment.
