Our District is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work as CASUAL Uncertified Teachers Teaching on Call in McBride, BC & Valemount, BC. Applicants will preferably have a minimum of three years of post‑secondary education at the university level, along with a variety of recent experiences working with either children or teens in a coaching, mentoring or employment capacity. This posting is specific to individuals willing to work in the rural communities of McBride, BC & Valemount, BC.
McBride, BC is a village of 600 people located 209 km southeast of Prince George, BC and 166 km northwest of Jasper, AB. Valemount, British Columbia is located 292 km southeast of Prince George, British Columbia. It is a town of approximately 1000 people. Applicants must be prepared to work on a casual on call basis in any school in their geographical area. A reliable vehicle/transportation is essential to this role. Applicants with assessment and trauma‑informed practice experience are preferred. School District No. 57 resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nations, McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Simpcw First Nations. Geographically we expand from Mackenzie, through Prince George, to McBride and Valemount. We serve 41 schools: 32 Elementary schools, 8 Secondary schools and 1 District Learning Support centre for alternative and alternate learning opportunities. We provide educational programs for approximately 15,000 students inclusive of early learning, after school art and sports programming, trades programs, and dual credit programs with our local post‑secondary schools. We support Lheidli T’enneh students, McLeod Lake students and Takla students living on reserve through our Local Education Agreements. With each Nation we co‑construct the educational services provided to the students while attending a school within our school district.
